Our client, a leading provider of specialist educational services in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part‑time Specialist SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Tutor to join their team. In This Role, You Will Be Expected To:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of each student's learning needs, strengths, and areas for development.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans that incorporate evidence‑based teaching strategies and resources.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of your students.
  • Collaborate closely with the student's family, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to their education.
  • Monitor and track student progress, making adjustments to the learning plans as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance and progress, and provide regular updates to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of SEND education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS, with a specialism in SEND education.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders.
  • A deep understanding of the latest educational policies, frameworks, and best practices in SEND provision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Creativity, patience, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
  • Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance the learning experience.
