As an Events Supervisor, you’ll lead the team in delivering seamless meetings, conferences, weddings, and events of all sizes. From setting up rooms to coordinating service and overseeing smooth delivery, you’ll ensure every event meets guest expectations and runs to plan. You’ll balance hands-on support with leadership, guiding your team to provide excellent service while ensuring standards, safety, and efficiency are maintained throughout. Objectives of this role:
- Supervise and support the events team to deliver exceptional service.
- Oversee the setup, service, and breakdown of meetings, conferences, and functions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Coordinate with other departments to deliver smooth, professional events.
- Handle guest requests, feedback, and changes calmly and efficiently.

- Lead and motivate the events team during functions, providing clear direction.
- Train and coach team members on service standards and event procedures.
- Conduct pre-event briefings to share event details, timings, and responsibilities.
- Handle guest feedback and issues with professionalism and positivity.

Quality
- Ensure event rooms are set up to the agreed specification, layout, and brand standards.
- Oversee food and beverage service during events, maintaining quality and presentation.
- Monitor timing and flow of events to ensure they run smoothly.
- Conduct post-event checks to ensure venues are reset or ready for the next function.
- Uphold health, safety, and food hygiene standards at all times.
- Work with the kitchen and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
Profit
- Support upselling of event services, packages, and upgrades.
- Manage event resources efficiently, avoiding waste and unnecessary costs.
- Assist with stock control and ordering for event service equipment.
- Ensure accurate billing and charges are captured for each event.
- Contribute to revenue growth through professional delivery that encourages repeat business.
Responsible Business
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, fire safety, and emergency procedures.
- Promote sustainable practices such as reducing single-use items and recycling.
- Report and follow up on maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Treat all team members and guests fairly, with dignity and respect.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards including any hotel-specific brand standards.
- Complete all E-learning and mandatory training within required timeframes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in events, banqueting, or hospitality supervision.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and guest service abilities.
- Knowledge of event setup, service standards, and health & safety procedures.
- Proactive and confident in managing last-minute changes.
- Flexible to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and keep events running smoothly.
- Familiarity with event systems, AV equipment, or booking software (preferred).
