We are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer with professional-level expertise in PVSyst and PVCase for a utility-scale solar project. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and in-depth understanding of the full project lifecycle, from engineering design through to construction and commissioning.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing technical designs, supporting EPC contract development, overseeing construction processes, and managing key project milestones such as acceptance testing and achieving commercial operation dates.
- Utilizing industry-standard software to advance technical designs from preliminary to detailed stages.
- Optimising layouts and energy yields through iterating across different equipment and configurations.
- Designing in accordance with industry codes and standards, considering feedback from other areas.
- Assisting in preparing pre- and post-construction documentation.
- Leading and supporting technical due diligence processes, including engagements with Lenders’ Technical Advisors (LTAs).
- Serving as the technical lead for tender preparation and Request for Quotation (RFQ) development and evaluation.
- Reviewing and defining contract technical requirements (e.g., Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) processes) and establishing tracking mechanisms for compliance.
- Conducting on-site verification of installations and testing to ensure alignment with designs, regulations, standards, and internal procedures.
- Coordinating and evaluating pre-construction technical surveys.
- Managing relationships with Owner’s Engineers and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy), or a related field.
- Experience in planning and executing utility-scale solar power projects.
- Proficiency in solar PV design software (i.e. PVsyst and PVCase) with a strong understanding of renewable energy systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system optimisation skills.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant demonstrable experience.
