Process Engineer | Emerging Technologies & Scale-Up
We are working with an innovative technology business looking to bring in a Process Engineer to support the development and scale-up of new technologies.
This is an opportunity to work on emerging technologies, taking processes from early-stage development through pilot and demonstration projects, with a focus on progressing towards commercial-scale operations.
We are keen to speak with engineers who enjoy working in developing environments, solving technical challenges and playing a hands-on role in bringing new processes and technologies to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development and scale-up of novel processes and technologies, from pilot through to commercial scale.
- Develop and review process engineering documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
- Support the design, installation, commissioning and operation of pilot and demonstration plants.
- Work closely with R&D, engineering and operations teams to translate new technologies into scalable processes.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation, improving efficiency, performance and reliability.
- Work with external engineering partners, equipment suppliers and wider project stakeholders.
Experience & Background
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience working on pilot plants, demonstration projects or the scale-up of new technologies.
- Background in process design, development or engineering within an industrial or technology-focused environment.
- Exposure to emerging technologies, first-of-a-kind projects or innovative process development would be particularly interesting.
- Understanding of process engineering fundamentals, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment selection and process calculations.
- Experience supporting commissioning, start-up or plant operations would be beneficial.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where technologies and processes are still evolving.
