Operations Manager I Build a Business. Not Just a Function.

London | 4 days in the office

Most operations jobs are about improving what's already there.

This isn't.

We're working with a venture-backed climate technology company that has recently secured fresh investment and is now entering the next stage of its growth journey.

The technology is proven.

Now they're building the business that will take it to commercial scale.

They're looking for someone who loves creating structure from ambiguity.

Someone who enjoys fixing problems before they become problems.

Someone who gets just as excited about building dashboards, improving processes, implementing AI, supporting strategic planning and helping the CEO make better decisions as they do about delivering projects.

This isn't a traditional operations role.

  • It's part
  • Chief of Staff , part
  • Business Operations , part
  • Strategic Projects , and part

Commercial Finance .

You’ll work directly with the CEO, helping build the operating rhythm of the business as it scales.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Building scalable business processes and operational infrastructure.
  • Developing forecasting, reporting and KPI dashboards that enable faster, better decision-making.
  • Working across engineering, commercial and operations teams to improve how the business runs.
  • Supporting fundraising, investor readiness and strategic planning.
  • Using AI, automation and digital tools to create lean, scalable ways of working.
  • Supporting major operational projects including facilities, suppliers, procurement and business expansion.
  • Helping leadership understand where to invest, accelerate or change direction.

You'll probably enjoy this role if you...

  • Love building things from scratch.
  • Enjoy bringing order to fast-moving businesses.
  • Like solving operational problems.
  • Thrive in ambiguity.
  • Want to work directly alongside founders and senior leadership.
  • Prefer wearing lots of hats rather than sitting in a silo.
  • Want to play a genuine role in scaling a business.

We'd love to hear from people with backgrounds in

  • Chief of Staff
  • Business Operations
  • Strategy & Operations
  • Commercial Operations
  • Revenue Operations
  • FP&A
  • Commercial Finance
  • Finance Business Partnering
  • Project Management
  • Operational Excellence
  • Strategic Planning
  • Programme Management

You don't need experience in climate technology.

You do need to be commercially minded, operationally curious and excited by helping build a business during one of the most exciting stages of its journey.

If you've ever looked at a business and thought...

"There has to be a better way of doing this."

... we'd love to hear from you.
