Newcastle / UK-Wide | Remote & Field-Based | Competitive Base + Uncapped Commission
We're partnering with one of North America's leading industrial power and electromechanical service businesses to appoint a Technical Account Manager as it looks to significantly expand its renewables operations across the UK, with longer-term ambitions across Europe.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established wind energy customer base, develop new business and play a key role in growing the company's UK renewables division.
The Opportunity:
You'll inherit an established renewables portfolio, currently generating approximately Β£750kβΒ£1m annually, with significant scope to expand existing accounts and develop new customer relationships across the UK.
The business specialises in the repair and servicing of rotating electrical equipment, particularly wind turbine generators, and is investing in expanding its capabilities and market presence.
With ambitious growth plans for its UK renewables operations, this role offers genuine commercial ownership and the opportunity to help shape the division's future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow an established portfolio of wind energy customers
- Identify and secure new business across the UK wind energy market
- Build relationships with wind farm owners, operators, OEMs and service providers
- Develop opportunities across wind turbine generator repair, rotating equipment and electromechanical services
- Work closely with the Newcastle-based engineering, workshop and operational teams
- Manage your own sales pipeline, customer relationships and commercial activity
- Support the longer-term expansion of the renewables business across the UK and potentially Europe
What We're Looking For:
We're particularly interested in commercially driven individuals with an established background in the wind energy sector.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Experience in technical sales, account management or business development within wind energy
- An established network across wind farm operators, OEMs, asset owners or maintenance providers
- Strong knowledge of the UK wind energy market and its commercial opportunities
- A track record of developing customer relationships and generating new business
- The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with engineering and operational teams
Experience with wind turbine generators, rotating equipment, electromechanical repair or industrial maintenance would be particularly advantageous.
We're open to individuals from OEMs, specialist service providers and related businesses, provided they have relevant wind industry experience and established customer relationships.
Location & Working Arrangements:
The role is connected to the company's Newcastle engineering and repair facility, although candidates can be based anywhere in the UK.
This is a home-based, field sales position involving national customer travel and visits to the Newcastle site as required.
Building strong relationships with the Newcastle workshop, engineering and operational teams will be an important part of the role, ensuring customers receive the right technical support and service delivery.
There is no fixed weekly office attendance requirement, offering flexibility for someone with an established national customer network.
What's on Offer:
- Competitive base salary, dependent on experience
- Uncapped commission with significant earning potential
- Established customer accounts from day one
- Remote and field-based working flexibility
- Autonomy to develop and grow a national customer portfolio
- Strong technical and operational support from the Newcastle facility
- Backing of an extensive North American industrial services network
- Opportunity to contribute to future European expansion
- Long-term career development within a growing renewables division
This isn't a role where you'll be starting from scratch.
You will inherit an established customer base, benefit from a strong technical offering and have the autonomy to develop new commercial opportunities across a growing market.
