Project Engineer | Low-Carbon Manufacturing
Manchester | Full-time
Want to help take a new manufacturing process from development into industrial production?
I’m working with an early-stage low-carbon materials business looking for a hands‑on Project Engineer to help deliver its pilot manufacturing facility.
This is an opportunity to take real ownership across equipment selection, procurement, installation and commissioning, working closely with the Project Manager, leadership team, suppliers and contractors.
The role:
- Translate process requirements into equipment specifications, factory layouts and utility requirements.
- Support equipment procurement, technical reviews and supplier management.
- Coordinate site preparation, equipment installation and contractor activities.
- Incorporate safety and compliance requirements into the factory design.
- Lead equipment commissioning, troubleshoot start‑up issues and help production reach its target output.
What we’re looking for:
You’ll have practical experience delivering industrial or manufacturing projects, whether that’s a production‑line installation, pilot plant, factory expansion or equipment upgrade.
Your background could be in mechanical, manufacturing, production, process or chemical engineering, with a degree, HNC/HND or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with capital equipment, plant layouts, utilities, suppliers and commissioning will be particularly relevant. Exposure to powder processing, chemicals, coatings, advanced materials or other batch manufacturing environments would be useful, but we’re open to adjacent sectors.
Above all, you’ll be someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, solving problems and seeing a project through to operation.
