Production Engineer | Low-Carbon Manufacturing
Manchester | Full-time
Enjoy turning a new manufacturing process into something that works reliably on the factory floor?
I’m working with an early-stage low-carbon materials business looking for a hands-on Production Engineer to help establish and scale its pilot manufacturing operation.
You’ll help bring new equipment into operation, develop production processes and improve output, quality and reliability as the facility moves through commissioning and production ramp-up.
The role:
- Develop practical production workflows, equipment layouts and material-handling arrangements.
- Support equipment specification, selection, installation and commissioning.
- Establish operating procedures and support operator training.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues during start-up and day-to-day production.
- Identify bottlenecks and improve throughput, consistency and equipment performance.
- Work closely with suppliers, contractors and the project team to build safe, efficient manufacturing operations.
What we’re looking for:
Practical experience in production, manufacturing or process engineering, with direct involvement in improving manufacturing processes or bringing new equipment and production lines into operation.
You’ll be comfortable working on the factory floor, interpreting technical drawings and taking ownership of engineering problems.
Experience in powder processing, chemicals, coatings, building materials, composites or other batch manufacturing environments would be useful. We’re equally interested in engineers from adjacent sectors who bring strong practical skills.
A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent practical experience in a relevant engineering discipline would suit this role.
The opportunity to influence how a new manufacturing facility operates from the outset, working closely with a small team and seeing your ideas put into practice.
