As Senior Calibration Engineer you will take ownership of calibration strategy, governance, and delivery across test, production, and quality operations. The Role

  • Provide technical ownership and accountability for calibration activities across the business.
  • Manage calibration planning, scheduling, and execution for both in-house and externally calibrated equipment.
  • Maintain and develop calibration systems, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Own the central asset register, ensuring accurate tracking of calibration status and equipment availability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance calibration capability, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Act as the technical authority for measurement systems, calibration methodologies, and equipment specification.
  • Support test equipment and facility design, commissioning, operation, and audit readiness activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure robust and compliant processes.
  • Develop calibration capability through documentation, training, and knowledge sharing across the organisation.

Ideally, You'll Have a Combination

  • Significant experience within a laboratory, test, manufacturing, or industrial engineering environment.
  • Hands-on experience calibrating, maintaining, or operating electromechanical measurement systems.
  • Expertise managing calibration programmes, including scheduling, asset management, and external suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of measurement systems, calibration principles, and data integrity requirements.
  • Experience improving engineering processes, systems, or operational frameworks.
  • The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams.
  • Experience operating within regulated, quality-driven, or safety-critical environments.
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and practical engineering skills.
