This role sits within an advanced manufacturing organisation developing next-generation materials and production technologies. Operating at industrial scale, they work with global partners to deliver high-performance products into demanding technical applications. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to take ownership of material quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, from supplier qualification and incoming raw materials through to finished product release and customer quality performance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming raw material quality assurance processes, including supplier quality, Certificate of Analysis (CoA) verification, and batch release activities.
- Ensure finished products consistently meet defined specifications through robust quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Lead supplier qualification, auditing, performance monitoring, and corrective action activities to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain quality systems that support high-volume manufacturing and ensure product consistency at scale.
- Drive the transition from inspection-focused quality control to proactive quality assurance and process capability management.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Support process validation, industrialisation, and scale-up activities to ensure stable and repeatable manufacturing performance.
- Utilise statistical analysis and quality tools to monitor process performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decision making.
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience within a high-volume chemical, materials, coatings, inks, slurries, or related manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in quality engineering with responsibility for product quality within industrial-scale production operations.
- Experience in supplier quality management, including qualification, auditing, performance management, and non-conformance resolution.
- Demonstrated success in managing batch-to-batch consistency and controlling raw material variability.
- Strong understanding of material, process, and performance relationships within manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting process scale-up, validation, and transfer from development into production.
- Working knowledge of quality methodologies including 8D, Root Cause Analysis, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and MSA.
- Proficiency in analytical testing, quality verification techniques, data analysis, and KPI reporting.
