As the first hire in corporate finance, you will establish the frameworks, processes, and relationships required to support a rapidly expanding renewable infrastructure portfolio.
Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, you will play a central role in shaping funding strategy, executing complex project finance transactions, supporting M&A activity, and preparing the business for future capital markets activity.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role combining strategic leadership with detailed execution in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage the company’s capital structure, funding strategy, and liquidity planning
- Structure, negotiate, and execute project finance transactions, including non-recourse debt, equity, and blended finance solutions
- Act as the internal subject matter expert on project finance and infrastructure debt
- Partner with the CEO to ensure long-term exit readiness
- Develop and support execution of the company’s M&A strategy
Investment analysis
- Lead financial modelling, valuation, scenario and sensitivity analysis for new projects, acquisitions, and partnerships
- Own and coordinate financial due diligence with external advisers and lenders
Investor & lender relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, institutional investors, infrastructure funds, and strategic partners
- Lead future debt and equity raise processes alongside senior leadership
- Establish best-in-class financial policies, reporting standards, and controls relating to the debt portfolio
- Serve as the primary interface with project finance providers and manage ongoing lender reporting obligations
Experience & skills
- Significant experience in corporate finance, debt advisory, investment banking, project finance, or infrastructure private equity
- Strong background in renewable energy, clean tech, infrastructure, or adjacent energy/industrial sectors
- Proven track record of structuring and closing complex infrastructure or energy financing transactions
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation capability, including building project finance models from first principles
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to operate at board and investor level
- Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating as a first hire in a growing organisation
