We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager for our client to lead the full lifecycle of large-scale renewable energy projects, from pre-construction bidding and tendering through to commissioning and final handover. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site-based construction management within the solar PV and/or BESS sectors and will be adept at overseeing subcontractors and ensuring project milestones are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire project delivery process, from initial pre-construction planning and tendering to final commissioning and handover.
- Oversee on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Coordinate and liaise with key stakeholders, including developers, engineers, suppliers, and local authorities, to drive successful project execution.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery while maintaining quality control and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the construction phase, ensuring seamless project progression.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project management, specifically within large-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK construction regulations and permitting processes within the renewable energy sector.
- Proven site-based construction management experience, transitioning into project management.
- Expertise in managing subcontractors, ensuring health & safety compliance, and handling contract negotiations.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
