This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of electrochemical innovation, contributing to the development, optimisation, and scale-up of next-generation technologies. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, working on complex technical challenges and supporting the transition of novel electrochemical solutions from research through to commercial deployment. What you’ll be doing: Design, execute, and analyse electrochemical experiments to support technology development. Apply techniques including cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), chronoamperometry, and chronopotentiometry. Develop and optimise electrochemical systems, materials, and processes. Interpret experimental data and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations. Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and external partners to deliver project objectives. Support scale-up activities and technology transfer from laboratory research through to commercial implementation. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards. What we are looking for: Essential: MSc or PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline. Strong hands-on experience with electrochemical testing and characterisation techniques. Experience designing experiments and analysing complex datasets. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strongly desirable: Experience in areas such as batteries, fuel cells, electrolysers, electrocatalysis, corrosion science, carbon capture, or energy storage technologies. Knowledge of materials characterisation techniques. Experience with data analysis and modelling tools such as Python, MATLAB, or Origin.
