The purpose of this job is to ensure and maintain an efficient service, including following the cash register procedure and accurately ringing up sales, resulting in increased customer satisfaction and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they enter the store
- Follow cash-up procedures
- Check cash received from customers
- Process EFT payments
- Ensure all sales are accurately and efficiently processed on the registers
- Pack purchased items into shopping bags
- Hand over cash drops to a supervisor for security
- Perform daily cash reconciliations
- Be vigilant of suspicious customers
- Be aware of all promotional products on sale
- Issue gift cards, check customers\’ reward cards, and redeem points
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area
- Participate in regular stock takes
- Perform any additional tasks delegated by supervisors
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
- Completion of Brights Induction (service excellence)
- Clear credit history
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Vigilance and awareness
- Ability to handle pressure
- Strong numerical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Willingness to work flexible hours and holidays as needed
