Lead Teacher (Full‑time)
Location: Cheshire, CT
Work Hours: No evenings or weekends!
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks–12 years in one assigned classroom.
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum following NAEYC standards.
- Design programs and activities based on children’s interests and learning styles.
- Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that encourages exploration.
- Collaborate with families to create individualized care and education plans.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education/related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA) credential OR Head Teacher certification OR 12 credits in Early Childhood Education courses; Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed child care facility (preferred).
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Availability to work during regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
