Event Marketing Assistant in Birmingham

The Role:

Join the team behind brightonSEO! We’re looking for a creative and organised Marketing Assistant to help bring our campaigns and events to life!

As part of our small, dynamic, and fully remote UK team, you’ll play a key role in delivering marketing activity across our buzzing portfolio of digital marketing events and campaigns. You’ll work closely with our Head of Marketing and the wider team to ensure every piece of communication we put out is professional, creative, and impactful. Helping us connect with audiences, build excitement, and fill our events with passionate digital marketers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and send HTML emails and newsletters to attendees and sponsors to promote events, particularly ticket sales.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of social media campaigns across all our products/events.
• Keep our social media buzzing by engaging with followers and building a welcoming online community.
• Update and maintain mailing list data within our email platform.
• Update and maintain event website content.
• Working with the Head of Marketing and Graphic Designer to ensure all marketing output (from social posts to emails) looks polished, professional, and on-brand.
• Support event partnerships to drive ticket sales.
• Assist with sponsor communications to encourage event promotion.
• Participate in the onsite delivery and smooth running of live events.
• Monitor marketing performance and contribute to campaign reporting.
• Provide marketing support to the wider team as required.

Your Profile:

• 1–2 years’ experience in a marketing role is desirable (event experience is a bonus).
• Strong communication and copywriting skills.
• Ability to effectively adapt to the brand tone of voice.
• Knowledge of email platforms and website CMS (preferable).
• Excellent attention to detail with fantastic organisational skills.
• Strong IT skills and confidence using/learning marketing tools/software.
• Capable of multi-tasking, prioritising effectively, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Rough Agenda is the organiser of brightonSEO and a series of digital marketing events.

• brightonSEO UK is the largest search marketing event in the world. It takes place twice a year, in Spring and Autumn, and the event week programme is centred on three days of training, conference and exhibition events in the Brighton Centre.
• brightonSEO San Diego takes place annually in San Diego California.
• Hero Conf is co-located with the brightonSEO events in the spring in the UK, and the Autumn in the US.
• Alongside our events we run a busy programme of training courses, parties, events and activities which expand out to multiple hotels, bars, and event spaces across central Brighton. For each event week we welcome over 150 speakers, 40 sponsor partners, and more than 3000 delegates who travel from all over the UK and abroad.
