An exciting opportunity has arisen within Mill View Hospital for a permanent Hospital Social Worker. This role will support adults and older adults patients on the ward, work closely with other Hospital Social Workers, the Assessment and Treatment Service, and the Discharge Team. The post holder will also work with inpatients at Mill View Hospital and, at times, with those placed in acute hospitals out of area.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of statutory duties under the Care Act and other relevant legislation, providing advice and specialist interventions in the assessment and management of risk. They will help embed strengths- and relationship‑based practice across all assessment processes.
Responsibilities- Provide advice to staff about proportionate and personalised responses to service users and their carers.
- Help embed consideration of strengths and relationship-based practice in all assessment processes.
- Provide a specialist view and/or intervention in the assessment and management of risk.
- Be a qualified social worker.
- Confident in knowledge and experience of safeguarding vulnerable adults and risk assessment.
- Have an understanding of the importance of information and advice in supporting people to maintain their independence and well-being.
- Hold a solid knowledge of current legislation such as the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.
- Those required to complete their ASYE can apply for this post.
