Location: Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 3BQ

Contract type: Fixed basis

Salary: £37,260 – £39,163 per annum (41 hours per week including 4 contracted overtime hours) with additional overtime and Bank holiday pay.

We are seeking experienced HGV drivers to lead the Waste Collection team as a Collection Driver Supervisor in Brighton & Hove City Council. Applicants must be self‑motivated, adaptable and able to maintain high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a small team of operatives, ensuring timely completion of refuse and recycling collection tasks and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and provide customer‑focused service across a variety of locations.
  • Maintain respectful relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues and the public.
  • Ensure compliance with all council policies, procedures, values and behaviours.

Requirements

  • Valid HGV C category licence.
  • Valid CPC card and Tacho card.
  • Experience in management or supervision role.
