We’re hiring an Accounts Assistant (Sage 50 & Excel Proficiency Required) in Brighton & Newhaven, UK. This is a part-time position for 3 shifts per week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, 09:00–14:00). For the right candidate, flexible working hours or alternative days may be considered.

As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll handle a variety of responsibilities and play a key role in ensuring our financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling cash and processing electronic customer payments
  • Recording customer receipts using the Sage 50 Accounts package
  • Responding to customer account-related email enquiries
  • Inputting and processing customer invoices and payments
  • Processing supplier invoices and managing payments
  • Settling fishing vessel landings and paying crew
  • Data entry and general accounts administration
  • VAT and fuel duty reclaims
  • Providing holiday cover for the Office Manager when required
Required Skills & Experience:
  • A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 Accounts software
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in general accounts administration and data entry
  • Confident communicator, especially via email
