Due to the retirement of the current School Business Manager, the Governors of Carlton Hill Primary School are looking to appoint a:
- Part-time School Business Manager Role E (M11 Grade)
Permanent
Start date: Mid May 2026
Part-Time (3 days per week), Term Time +
22.5 hours per week
49.17 weeks per year, depending on length of service (Term time + 15 days worked across school holidays) (Equates to 0.5750 full-time equivalent)
NJC Grade M11: Current Points 29-32 £39,862 - £42,839 per annum full-time.
You will be paid on a part-time, pro-rata basis which equates to £22,921-£24,632 (This is based on April 2025 pay scales).
Paid weeks per year: 48.73 or 49.17, depending on length of service (inclusive of holiday entitlement)
About the role
Carlton Hill is a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming inner city primary school that celebrates its cultural diversity. We are a one form entry school with 218 pupils currently on roll. We currently employ 31 members of staff.
We are looking for a motivated, strategic thinking SBM to join our experienced and highly respected Senior Leadership Team (Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Inclusion Co-ordinator), collaborating closely on school development and planning for the future. You have support from a strong team of part-time Finance / HR Officer, a full-time School Administrator and a full-time Site Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in our school community, working alongside an ambitious and supportive team, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children and families.
Carlton Hill Primary School is part of the Brighton City Partnership for Education (BCPfE) who work in close collaboration to improve teaching and learning in our schools.
