Transport Monitoring Officer in Hove

In this role, you will be making a real difference to the transport network and the security of parking assets in the city by working as part of a team of officers who are monitoring the city transport network in real-time, identifying incidents around the city and making use of various data streams including CCTV. For an informal discussion please email the Transport Control Centre Team Leaders Job Introduction You will be working as part of a team, reporting to one of reporting to the Transport Monitoring Team Leaders. Working in the Transport Control Centre, which is a 24/7 multidisciplined service, and the communications hub for Brighton & Hove's City Transport Service. You will work a shift pattern covering the 24/7 operation. You will work closely with other teams within the Centre and will contribute to the accurate communication between the teams. No two days will be the same, there could be an incident on the transport network which requires a diversion to be put in place or you could be required to support with an event taking place in the City. You will regularly communicate with stakeholders and internal teams. Using your understanding of compliance regulations and legislation you will be confident making independent decisions, be able to identify incidents, knowing who and when to elevate or refer information to. You will be committed in continuously improving your understanding of the pressures from different users on the transport network whilst considering the councils carbon neutrality strategy. You will deliver a first class, customer focused operation by communicating with a wide range of transport users on changes to the network including pedestrians, users of car parks, cycles, buses, taxis and private vehicles. You will be confident working in a highly technical environment where emerging technology is used to manage and collect a variety of data to understand what is happening around the city both in real time. Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
