Location: Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 3BQ (hybrid working available)

Salary: £32,061 to £33,699 (annual) on a 37‑hour basis, contractual hours.

About the role

As a Housing Solutions Officer you will work directly with tenants, landlords and partner agencies to provide practical, strengths‑based support that helps people remain securely housed. You’ll identify risks early, coordinate appropriate support, and act as a consistent point of contact during critical periods of a tenancy. Your role includes working closely with colleagues across Housing, including Options, Move On and PRS teams, to ensure households receive the right support at the right time.

Responsibilities

• Supporting tenants to address issues that could put their tenancy at risk.
• Working with landlords and agents to resolve concerns early and maintain positive relationships.
• Providing advice and support around income, benefits, budgeting and affordability.
• Coordinating with partner agencies to address wider support needs.
• Monitoring tenancy sustainability and responding quickly to emerging risks.
• Keeping accurate case records and contributing to service improvement.

Qualifications and experience

• Experience supporting people with housing‑related or tenancy issues.
• Understanding of factors that commonly lead to tenancy breakdown.
• Confidence working with landlords, agents and partner services.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• A strengths‑based, solution‑focused approach.
