Job description

At Brighton & Hove City Council we are making great progress on improving our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing approaches, through our team of committed practitioners, who work alongside our Facilities and Building Services colleagues.

We are looking to recruit a individual to our team who has an interest in Health, Safety and facilities management, who wants to contribute to our continual improvement journey and provide direct administration support to our teams.

Do you:

  • Have a talent for customer service, strong administration skills, and the ability to use digital solutions effectively for tracking tasks?
  • Have a desire to develop these skills whilst learning more about facilities management and our approaches to health, safety and wellbeing?
  • Enjoy working with a large and diverse number of internal and external customers and seeing the direct positive outcomes from your work?
  • Have an interest in or been involved in health, safety and wellbeing matters before and want to increase your knowledge and experience of this work?

If so, then this role could be of interest to you!

About the role

The administrative role is part of a service delivery team based at Hove Town Hall, which acts as the focal point for all enquiries relating to Health, Safety, Wellbeing, Facilities and Building Services. You will work alongside two other helpdesk administrators and a service delivery manager.

This role sits within a busy team of enthusiastic people who are great at dealing with a wide range of enquiries from a large and diverse customer base through digital, phone and face to face contact.

In this job you will record, allocate and track requests for work or advice and you will be involved with identifying solutions to help address these. You will be able to see how the team deals with a vast range of topics with the support of subject matter experts in fire safety, water safety, asbestos, premises management, site security, and contract management and so you can draw on their knowledge and experience, as well as working with them to help with your own development and awareness.
