If so, we would like to hear from you., Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking an exceptional leader to become our next Head of Service for In-House Provider Services. This is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for a diverse portfolio of services that support some of the city’s most vulnerable residents, including Older People’s Services, Learning Disability Services and our hostel-based accommodation services. This is an opportunity to shape the future of directly delivered adult social care services, ensuring residents receive safe, effective, person-centred support whilst leading transformation, innovation and continuous improvement across a large operational workforce. As Head of Service, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a range of in-house care and support services. You will be accountable for:
- Delivering high-quality, customer-focused services that improve outcomes for residents.
- Leading large multidisciplinary teams across a diverse service portfolio.
- Driving service transformation and continuous improvement.
- Promoting excellence in safeguarding practice and quality assurance.
- Ensuring services meet statutory responsibilities and relevant regulatory requirements, including CQC standards.
- Managing significant budgets whilst delivering value for money and sustainable services.
- Working collaboratively with NHS colleagues, providers, the voluntary sector, elected members and other key partners.
- You will play a key role in helping Adult Social Care deliver its ambitions for improvement, integration and innovation, ensuring that people using services receive high-quality support which promotes independence, wellbeing and choice., You will be a visible and values-led leader who can support teams through change while maintaining a relentless focus on quality, safety and outcomes for people who draw on our services.

We’re looking for a strategic leader with substantial experience in adult social care, health, or related care services.
You will bring:
- Significant senior management experience leading complex operational services.
- Experience of managing substantial budgets and resources.
- A track record of leading successful service improvement and organisational change.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Experience of partnership working across health, social care and wider community services.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and create a positive culture.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with effective operational delivery.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
