Salary: £29,064 to £31,022

Contract: Fixed Hours – 37 hours per week, all year round including school holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality care and education for 2-5 year olds in the Dolphin room.
  • Lead a team of caregivers, ensuring a child-led practice with creative and sensory play and use of the outdoor garden.
  • Create a secure and stimulating environment.
  • Work in partnership with parents and partners such as health visitors, speech and language therapists and other early years professionals.
  • Serve as key person for a group of children, fostering secure attachments and supporting each child’s individual needs.
  • Follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and council child protection procedures.
  • Monitor and support children with concerns.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years and Childcare.
  • Commits to high quality care and effective communication.
  • Good understanding of meeting individual needs of young children and families, and experience working with young children.
  • Experience leading a practice team and working with children under 5 years of age.

We provide on-going professional development and training, including Room Leader training to support new candidates. A qualified Early Years Teacher will work closely with the Room Leader.

  • Your starting salary will be pro-rata if the position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
  • This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check.

  • Travel to and from the contractual location is at your expense.
