About the role

An HGV Driver is needed to drive Waste Collection vehicles for Brighton & Hove City council. This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team at Environmental Services to ensure our communities receive a great service so that we can make a real difference in our city You will:

  • be responsible for leading and supervising a small team of Operatives ensuring they complete their tasks and health and safety regulations are adhered to when undertaking the collection of refuse and recycling.
  • undertake daily vehicle inspections and providing customer focused service to complete the removal of household, recycling and other designated waste from a variety of locations.
  • maintain respectful working relationships and communicate with politeness and courtesy with both colleagues and members of the public.
  • ensure all relevant council policies, procedures, values and behaviours are understood and followed.
  • We are looking to fill 4 vacancies.

Requirements:

  • an HGV C CATEGORY Drivers Licence
  • a valid CPC card and Tacho Card
  • Management/supervising or relevant experience

It is essential that you to have a HGV C CATEGORY Drivers Licence and a valid CPC card.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
