Location: Hollingdean Depot, Upper Hollingdean Road, Brighton, BN1 7GA

Contract: Fixed Hours, 41 hours per week (Monday to Friday). AM shifts 05:00-13:42 or 06:00-14:42; PM shift 13:15-21:57.

Salary: £26,403 – £26,824 per annum (Band 3, pro‑rate). Overtime (4 hours) £4,282 – £4,350. Total potential salary £30,685 – £31,174 plus enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with waste/recycling collection duties under supervisor direction.
  • Operate vehicle safely and complete daily collection rounds.
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment, ensuring safe handling of heavy objects.
  • Interact positively with public and staff, representing Environmental Services.
  • Maintain punctuality, reliability, professionalism and respectful communication.
  • Adhere to safe working practices and equality principles for diverse communities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • No prior experience required; on‑site training provided.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
