Salary £29,064 - £31,022 pro rata. Actual salary for term-time only: 27.5 hours per week £19,674 - £21,000. 3 days per week £11,804 - £12,600. Contractual hours 16.5.

Responsibilities

  • The Governors at Cottesmore St Mary are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, patient and dedicated Learning Mentor.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to provide individualised and group support to vulnerable pupils across the school.

Part-time: 16.5 or 27.5 hours per week, term time only. Monday – Friday 8:45am – 3:00pm, or Wednesday – Friday 8:45am – 3:00pm. Paid weeks per year 46.94 (inclusive of holiday entitlement). Fixed term: 1 year. Start date: September 2026.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attachment aware and strong knowledge of trauma and its impact on pupils.
  • Good knowledge of a range of effective SEMH strategies.
  • Commitment to raising standards in all areas of school life.
  • Good understanding of child development and how children learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and use own initiative within the classroom, playground and wider school community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents/carers.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
