About the role
Street Cleansing Operatives are needed to keep all parts of the city clean for residents and visitors. The job involves:
- Litter picking on the streets
- Emptying bins
- Clearing weeds
- Fly-tipping clearance
- Deep cleaning
- Sweeping
- Pushing a barrow
Two shift patterns are available:
- Central AM: 05:00 – 13:00
- East and West AM: 06:00 – 14:00
You will need to:
- Walk long distances (7-10 miles per day)
- Lift and carry awkward objects and heavy loads
- Interact with members of the public
No special qualifications are required. We will provide:
- Full induction and training
- All necessary equipment
- Specialist uniform for safety
- Pension scheme and other benefits
