About the role

Street Cleansing Operatives are needed to keep all parts of the city clean for residents and visitors. The job involves:

  • Litter picking on the streets
  • Emptying bins
  • Clearing weeds
  • Fly-tipping clearance
  • Deep cleaning
  • Sweeping
  • Pushing a barrow

Two shift patterns are available:

  • Central AM: 05:00 – 13:00
  • East and West AM: 06:00 – 14:00

You will need to:

  • Walk long distances (7-10 miles per day)
  • Lift and carry awkward objects and heavy loads
  • Interact with members of the public

No special qualifications are required. We will provide:

  • Full induction and training
  • All necessary equipment
  • Specialist uniform for safety
  • Pension scheme and other benefits

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro-rated if the position is less than 37 hours or only during term time.
