Casual Operator Technician
Company: Brighton Dome & Festival
Salary: £15.43 per hour plus enhancements for working unsocial hours and bank holidays
Hours: Part-time
Location: Brighton, BN1 1UE
Working pattern: On-site
Job type: Temporary
Posting date: 28 Oct 2026
Closing date: 9 Nov 2026
We are looking for experienced Operator Technicians to join our Production team at Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival — home to world-class performances and the UK’s biggest curated arts festival.
You will need to be a dependable and supportive team member who brings experience and expertise at an operator level from similar venues and events elsewhere. You will bring a keen, willing-to-learn and willing to lead attitude, able to both respond constructively to feedback but assist in leading general technicians to work together safely. You will also need to be able to communicate calmly and respectfully with management, artists, visiting production staff and conference organisers, remain flexible as priorities change, and help the team meet deadlines in a busy environment.
Closing date for applications: Monday 9th November 9am
Please note: We will be holding recruitment workshops in the week commencing 23rd November (to be confirmed but probably on 26th AM and 27th AM November). If selected for interview, you will be invited to take part in a 1.5 hour workshop which will be an informal session that combines practical tasks, knowledge checks and a short informal interview.
Brighton Dome & Festival values diversity promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We encourage and welcome applications from all backgrounds and all parts of the community, particularly ethnically diverse people who are currently under-represented. All applications are judged on merit.
As a casual member of the Production department, you will provide practical, hands-on technical support across the Brighton Dome venues and Brighton Festival. For these roles, you will need to specialise in operating one of the technical bias routes of audio, lighting, AV or stage management, or being sufficiently skilled to act as the venue system technician responsible when liaising with incoming companies.
