Performing Arts Duty Manager (Zero-hours)

Location: Brighton

Salary: £15.32 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay

Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Performing Arts Duty Manager on a zero-hour basis.

Main Purpose of the Role: The Performing Arts Duty Manager will work as part of a team to
take responsibility for the operation and management of the Richard Cairns Building. You will ensure that the facilities are kept to the highest standard and that exceptional levels of customer service are always delivered.

Role Summary: The Performing Arts Duty Manager plays a key role within the Performing Arts Team, supporting the patrons and other users of the Richard Cairns Building with the operational resource requirements for their events. The ideal candidate will be someone with a passion for theatre, music and live events, as well as being customer-focused and willing to go the extra mile.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all users;
  • Promote and provide an environment that is clean, safe and comfortable for all users;
  • Ensure that all staff on duty are following the appropriate policies and procedures;
  • Ensure timetables sessions are set up and cleared away promptly;
  • Help with event set ups and be on hand at events to provide support;
  • Cleaning duties as required on a day-to-day basis to achieve the highest standards of presentation, supported by the Cleaning team;
  • Liaise with the school facilities, grounds, and cleaning departments to ensure the effective maintenance and cleanliness of the building;
  • Ensure the building opens and closes at scheduled times;
  • Conduct regular building patrols to ensure cleanliness and safe use of facilities;
  • Manage and operate the Theatre Auditorium in accordance with the operating manuals to ensure a safe environment for all;
  • Ensure routine maintenance, checks and inspections of plant, machinery and equipment are carried out (by others, where appropriate), working closely with the Theatre Operations Manager to achieve this.
  • Assist with the supervision of contractors with respect to health and safety, safeguarding, access and compliance documentation;
  • Promptly investigate, document and report on any incidents or accidents;
  • Be familiar with the Colleges Health and Safety Policy and its application to all site facilities;
  • Any other reasonable management request.

Hours of Work
This is an all-year round (52 weeks) appointment on a zero hour basis. The services you provide to the College will be on an ad-hoc basis. This means that whilst the College will try to give you as much notice as possible when offering work, there is no obligation on the part of the College to provide such work nor for you to accept any work offered.

Further discussions will take place at interview regarding availability of ad-hoc hours.

Remuneration
£15.32 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.

Holidays
Holiday entitlement is included in the hourly pay rate for this role.
