Brighton College are seeking to appoint a Marketing Officer (Social Media) to join the Marketing team.
Main Purpose of the Role: We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic Marketing Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering our Social Media Strategy for the Senior School, from Year 7 to Sixth Form.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creating and delivering the Brighton College Social Media Strategy.
- Managing all social media channels across the school, ensuring growth of follower numbers and engagement.
- Creating content using images, videos and graphic design tools to ensure that all channels remain lively and engaging throughout the year.
- Ensuring key marketing messages for the school are delivered.
- Delivering paid-for social media campaigns and report on the effectiveness.
- Keeping abreast with the latest social media trends and making recommendations on how the school can use each channel most effectively.
- Taking photos and video content at events, of daily school life and ensuring these are stored correctly on our photo management systems.
- Liaising with the marketing teams to share relevant content for the newsletter, website and school magazines.
- Working with staff to encourage them to create and share content.
- Keeping a close eye on comments, likes and shares.
- Reporting on the success of the social media channels over time.
- Attend school events to ensure the full and varied life at the school is showcased on social media channels.
- Update website news stories frequently.
- Any other reasonable management requests.
Person Specifications
The successful candidate will:
- Be experienced in managing social media accounts, with a passion and enthusiasm for education social media.
- Have a natural rapport with children of all ages.
- Be enthusiastic, and with a can-do attitude and the willingness to go the extra mile.
- Have an understanding of social media analytics and reporting.
- Have an ability to write succinctly and effectively.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have excellent proof-reading and editing skills.
- Flexibility to support the Group Marketing Director as required.
- Be a competent photographer with the ability to create and edit videos.
- Have the ability to adapt writing style to match our school 'tone of voice' guidelines.
- Be highly organised, and able to manage a busy calendar, plus multiple campaigns and projects.
- Be able to react quickly in a fast paced environment.
- Have excellent IT skills, ideally with graphic design experience.
- Have an understanding of crisis management and how to use social media appropriately in such situations (desirable).
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week) all year round (52 weeks). There may be occasional requirements to work outside of regular hours, including weekends, to support events for which time in lieu will be provided. We are also open to candidates that would be interested in a term-time (35 weeks) only appointment. This can be discussed further at interview.
Remuneration
A salary in the range of £29,000-£33,000 per annum will be offered to reflect the individual's skills and experience. Pro-rata'd depending on the agreed working weeks.
Holidays
23 days, plus bank holidays increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
