Grade: 8 starting at £47,389 to £56,535 per annum, pro rata if part time.

About the role
The Senior Education Manager will manage a dynamic team of professional services within the University of Sussex Business School. The team prides itself on being forward thinking, open to change and a driver of continuous improvement, if led by the right individual. The role supports the Senior Management Team within the Business School, in particular the Associate Deans for Education & Students and Global & Civic Engagement, contributing to facilitating the delivery of the strategy across these portfolios. The portfolio is diverse, with regular regeneration and diversification of income initiatives, as well as challenges around streamlining and regulatory obligations.
The successful candidate will be well-versed in supporting a wide variety of delivery methods and familiar with Business School specific accreditations and HE governance norms. They will also be confident in representing the School at Senior level in meetings and committees within the Faculty and across the University. They will be a great communicator and able to articulate complex scenarios to a variety of audiences. The successful role holder will also be able to analyse and evaluate data and data needs, as pertains to their area, in order to help inform decision-making. This is an exciting time for the Business School and the role holder will play a key role in helping to achieve triple crown accreditation.
About you
You will be an experienced higher education professional with a strong understanding of academic administration and programme/portfolio management. Ideally, within a Business School, University or similar complex HE setting, with a proven ability to support the delivery and development of high-quality education services. You will be highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and lead operational activity across multiple programmes or projects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will work closely with academic colleagues, professional services teams, and senior stakeholders. You will bring a collaborative and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to lead a team and contribute to strategic initiatives. An understanding of the regulatory and accreditation landscape within business schools (for example, programme review processes and external accreditation requirements) would be advantageous, alongside a commitment to continuous improvement and enhancing the student experience.
