The predicted salary is between 26093 - 29588 Β£ per year.

Full time or part time hours considered up to a maximum of 36.5 hours per week. Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need). Grade 4 starting at Β£26,093 to Β£29,588 per annum, pro rata if part time. This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.

About the role

Working within the Research Support team you will coordinate all elements of the postgraduate research student journey, from admissions to graduation and enjoy a wide variety of tasks that will vary throughout the year, keeping the job fresh and interesting. The role involves a variety of tasks which include:

  • Administrating all matters related to postgraduate research students.
  • Administrating PGR admissions.
  • Managing PGR data records on the university system.
  • Financial activities, including procurement, expenses and invoices.
  • Organising small conferences and workshops.
  • Administrative support for Faculty research activities, the research and enterprise coordinators and research faculty.

The role will require flexibility to undertake similar duties within any of the four Sussex Science schools – Engineering and Informatics, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physical Sciences and Psychology.

About you

Are you an experienced administrator looking for a brand-new challenge? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive professional to join the dynamic and friendly Research Support administrative team, located within the Faculty of Science Engineering and Medicine. You will be a confident communicator with strong IT and organisational skills and experience in customer service and data entry. You will be versatile, outgoing and enjoy working closely with colleagues to deliver a high standard of support while having the freedom to create new systems.

Our university is situated off the A27, next to the beautiful South Downs where you will enjoy everything that our 150-acre campus has to offer. We are accessible by public transport; Falmer train station is a five-minute walk to campus and several bus stops are located within campus. We also have dedicated cycling paths and encourage our staff to use these with our offering of a cycle to work scheme.
