About the role:
As Executive Operations Support (EOS) you will support two VCO Executives in delivering high-quality administrative management with precision and professionalism, playing a crucial role in Executive success. You will collaborate with external and internal stakeholders including colleagues across the division and the wider University.
You will give advice in prioritising tasks and meetings, provide secretarial support wherever needed, offer strategies for better time management and gather and analyse data to support decision making. Additionally, you will be helping the EOS team in general housekeeping tasks and providing cover in times of absence.
About you:
You will be educated to degree level or have relevant working experience. As effective Executive Operations Support you will be highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, ensuring that tasks and schedules are managed efficiently. Flexibility allows you to navigate changing priorities and unexpected challenges smoothly. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enable you to convey information clearly and effectively, and produce briefings as required.
You will be a resourceful problem-solver, consistently delivering high-quality work. Proficient in various software and tools, while your interpersonal skills help build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. These qualities will make you invaluable to your Executives and the University. Confidentiality is key as you will support Executives on key strategic and sensitive issues in support of University priorities.
About our Division:
The Vice-Chancellor’s Office (VCO) supports the University’s senior academic leaders (the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy-Vice-Chancellor, and Pro-Vice-Chancellors), and the University’s professional services lead (the Chief Operating Officer). The VCO advises and assists senior leaders, provides day-to-day executive support, and facilitates the University’s leadership groups. These are the University Leadership Forum (ULF), the Academic Leadership Forum (ALF) and the Professional Services Leadership Team (PSLT).
The VCO is also responsible for the University’s executive governance function which supports the Vice-Chancellor in the day-to-day management of the University and in realising the University’s strategic and operational objectives, subject to Council’s oversight. The University’s executive governance function operates in conjunction with the University’s academic (Senate) and corporate (Council) governance. Together these three strands of governance help ensure the University realises its operational and strategic objectives, meets its regulatory and statutory obligations, and is governed in accordance with its Regulations, Statutes and Charter.
