We are looking for an experienced and motivated Enhanced Access Service Lead to join Brighton and Hove Federation.
This is an exciting opportunity for an operational leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality primary care services.
You will lead the day-to-day operational management of our Enhanced Access Service and Practice Support functions, ensuring safe, efficient and patient-centred service delivery across Brighton and Hove.
You will manage a small administrative team, oversee workforce planning and rota management, support governance and quality improvement, monitor service performance, and work closely with GP practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and system partners.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and confident leading service improvements while maintaining excellent relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to influence service development and help shape the future of primary care across the city.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will
- Lead the operational delivery of the Enhanced Access Service and Practice Support.
- Manage and support a team of administrators.
- Plan and oversee clinical and administrative rotas.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and workforce compliance using our workforce platform.
- Monitor service activity, capacity and performance against contractual KPIs.
- Produce reports for senior management and commissioners.
- Lead operational meetings and support service planning.
- Manage incidents, complaints, audits and quality improvement activity.
- Work collaboratively with GP practices, PCNs, commissioners and partner organisations.
- Support implementation of new services, pathways and digital systems.
- Promote continuous improvement to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.
Some flexibility will be required, including occasional evenings and weekends to support service delivery.

Job responsibilities
The Enhanced Access Service Lead will provide operational leadership for Brighton and Hove Federation's Enhanced Access Service and Practice Support functions, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred services across Brighton and Hove.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service, including workforce planning, rota management, recruitment and onboarding, service performance, governance, quality assurance and continuous service improvement.
They will line manage a team of administrators and work closely with clinical leads, GP practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs), commissioners and other system partners to ensure contractual requirements and key performance indicators are met.
The role requires an experienced operational manager with excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills who is able to balance competing priorities while maintaining a high-quality service.
The successful candidate will lead service developments, support governance processes, oversee reporting requirements and contribute to the ongoing development of innovative primary care services across Brighton and Hove.
This is a hybrid role requiring travel across Brighton and Hove to support service delivery, with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends where required.

Experience
- Management experience within a complex organisation, ideally within healthcare.
- Experience leading operational teams.
- Experience managing staff performance and development.
- Experience managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of workforce planning and rota management.
- NHS or Primary Care experience.
- Experience working with commissioners or partner organisations.
- Experience of project management and service implementation.
