Talent Acquisition Lead @ BrightLocal | SAAS | Scale-up/Start-up Specialist

BrightLocal is a leading platform that empowers businesses to boost their online visibility through effective local SEO solutions. We are committed to delivering intuitive, high-quality, and cohesive design experiences to our users. Our Product

Design team is pivotal in building and maintaining a design system that ensures consistency and scalability across our platform.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Designer to join our Product Design team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities through strategic Design and user Research. You will lead Discovery and Design initiatives within our delivery framework and work closely with front end engineers to ensure design requirements are fulfilled.

It will be your role to bring together desired business outcomes and user needs to identify solutions and design experiences with the highest chance of success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Research, Analysis and Design. You’ll shape Product Strategy by exploring the problems that matter most — running user research, digging into the data, and using design thinking to spot the biggest opportunities for impact.
  • Solution Discovery. You’ll lead discovery for the problem spaces your squad is tackling — facilitating the design process, defining what success looks like for users, and helping your team choose the right solutions to move forward with.
  • Product Design. You’ll take ownership of your designs from start to finish — creating all the assets and flows needed to bring an experience to life. You’ll make sure everything is clear, complete, and ready for engineers to build.
  • Engineering Support. You’ll work side-by-side with engineers throughout the process — asking questions early, collaborating often, and staying involved during sprints to make sure what we ship reflects the design intent.
  • Impact & Learnings. You’ll partner with your Product Manager to track how well your work is performing in the real world — and share what you learn, so the team (and business) keeps getting smarter over time.

You’ll need to have:

  • Strong design skills, end to end. You know how to take a problem and turn it into simple, beautiful, effective solutions — from UX flows to polished UI. You’re thoughtful with details and confident working independently.
  • A user-first mindset. You ask the right questions, run your own research, and know how to connect what users need with what the business is trying to achieve.
  • Comfort with data, product, and outcomes. You use data to guide your thinking, measure impact, and make decisions. You understand how our product fits into the bigger picture — and you care about the results your work delivers.
  • Team spirit and resilience. You keep things moving, even when things get unclear or messy. You give and receive feedback well, stay constructive under pressure, and help others do the same.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, including time spent in senior or lead roles.
  • A strong portfolio showing complex, end-to-end product work — not just final UIs, but how you got there.
  • Experience designing for web-based SaaS products, ideally in a B2B context.
  • Worked in cross-functional teams, alongside Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers.
  • Experience running user research and data-informed decision making.
  • Fluency in Figma—rom building prototypes to maintaining components and collaborating in shared files.
  • Hands-on experience with design systems — either helping to build one or working within a mature system, with a solid grasp of tokens, variants, and component libraries.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Collaboration Tools: Experience with the Chromatic platform for UI approval, UI testing at component-level and visual regression testing.
  • Industry Experience: Familiarity with the SEO industry and/or experience with SaaS platforms.
  • Theme Variations: Experience with implementing or considering light and dark theme variations in design systems.

What you get in return

  • Bonus: Upto 20% annually
  • Hybrid Working – 2 days from our central Brighton office and 3 from home
  • Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays + your birthday off!
  • Healthcare: Vitality Healthcare
  • Learning & Development: ÂŁ1000 per annum personal learning budget + other development
