Reports to: Development Lead
Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:
- Technical Leadership and Direction (40%): Set the technical direction for the front-end discipline, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices. Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies to keep our back-end development at the cutting edge. Collaborate with other principal developers and architects to define and implement scalable, maintainable, and performant front-end architectures.
- Software Development (30%): Dive deep into the creation of our SaaS products, working alongside a dynamic, cross-functional team, getting involved in every stage from brainstorming sessions to deployment, ensuring that our solutions not only meet but exceed our high standards. Your role extends beyond the code; you’ll be envisioning, planning, and executing projects that resonate with our customers.
- People Development (20%): Conduct regular career coaching sessions and facilitate guild meetings to share knowledge and foster the growth of the front-end development team. Work with engineering managers to identify skill gaps and training needs, and develop strategies to address them. Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Process and Tooling (10%): Lead the effort in refining our development processes and exploring new tools that enhance our efficiency and output. Your insights will be invaluable in keeping us at the forefront of technological advancements.
Essential:
- Mastery of C# (.NET 6+ preferred)
- Expert in SQL Server
- Extensive experience in Test Driven Development (NUnit preferred)
- Advanced version control using Git, including branching strategies and conflict resolution
- Highly proficient in creating and maintaining RESTful & GraphQL APIs
- SOLID & OOP problem-solving skills
- Ability to investigate and diagnose production issues.
Desirable:
- ORMs (Entity Framework preferred)
- A seasoned practitioner of DevOps (CI/CD) & Cloud Services (Azure preferred)
- Mastery of several Design Patterns
- Knowledge of various back-end architectural patterns
- Experience with Observability as a practice (logging, App Insights, metrics and auditing)
- Aware of and able to implement good security practices.
