Salary up to £45,000 (OTE £200,000 uncapped commissions) | Location: Manchester (office-first policy)

We are looking for a result oriented, high performing Business Development Payroll Partner, an integral role for our UK sales function. You will lead and drive sales targets for our Payroll software and MSP solutions. You will join a team passionate about making a difference and driven to achieve targets. As a high calibre Sales payroll professional with a strong desire to help businesses grow, this role involves identifying new business opportunities, demonstrating our award-winning software to prospects including some face-to-face sales, and upselling HR & H&S Software and advice solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in sales development, payroll advice & SaaS solutions.

Reports to: Senior Sales Floor Manager

Hours: Monday–Saturday (Monday to Friday 8:45am–5:30pm)

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Identify target markets and key decision-makers within SMBs and mid-market companies and self-generate new payroll prospects; sit prospect demonstrations, and consult on Bright Payroll solutions and upsell Bright HR & H&S safety advice and software solutions; follow our business compliance regulations & FCA guidelines; develop and implement effective sales development strategies focused on payroll solutions and services; collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation and nurturing campaigns to promote sales; responsible for achieving monthly KPIs input & output metrics and business revenue target; self-generate opportunity through social selling and prospect/client referrals; be a subject matter expert for Bright HR products and services.
  • Pipeline Management: Oversee your sales development pipeline to ensure a steady flow of qualified opportunities are up to date and compliant; work with the sales team to transition leads smoothly into opportunities and ensure high conversion rates across all campaigns; prepare regular sales development reports and pipeline forecasts and deep dives to maximise opportunity.
  • Client Engagement: Build relationships with potential clients to understand their Payroll HR & H&S needs; build effective relationships with existing customers; engage and communicate professionally with decision-makers at a senior level.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: Work cross-functionally with product, operations, and customer success teams; collaborate with peers and dedicated BSCs to ensure high team performance.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in B2B sales, preferably in payroll software and Payroll managed services solutions.
  • Proven experience in generating and managing sales pipeline.
  • Strong understanding of payroll services, including PAYE, NI, P60s, P111Ds and how to maintain and update records on starters, leavers, salary changes, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Genesys and NICE) and sales engagement platforms.
  • Relevant certifications (CPP / CIPP) are not required but a plus.
