Job Opportunity: Deputy Manager, Learning Disabilities Service, Lowestoft. Brighthire Recruitment is advertising on behalf of our client, who is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join their established learning disabilities service in Lowestoft. This is an excellent opportunity for a Deputy Manager who is passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs within a person-centred environment focused on independence, inclusion, and positive outcomes. The learning disabilities service follows a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach, promoting dignity, choice, and meaningful engagement for the people they support.

About the Role:
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the learning disabilities service, ensuring high standards of care are always maintained. You will lead and support the staff team, oversee care delivery, and take responsibility for the service in the Home Manager’s absence. This Deputy Manager role would suit somebody with previous leadership experience within a learning disabilities service who is confident supporting adults with complex needs.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Home Manager with the daily running of the service
- Leading, supervising, and supporting the care team
- Ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered
- Monitoring resident wellbeing and updating care plans where required
- Managing and overseeing medication administration
- Supporting staff development, training, and performance management
- Acting as safeguarding lead in the Manager’s absence
- Ensuring compliance with CQC, health and safety, and infection control standards
- Building positive relationships with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
- Promoting independence, inclusion, and social engagement for residents
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager within a care setting
- Experience working within a learning disabilities service supporting adults with complex needs
- Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and referral pathways
- Strong working knowledge of CQC standards and regulations
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a staff team
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Passion for delivering person-centred care and positive outcomes
