Brighter Compliance is looking for an experienced Business Development Lead, someone who is confident, professional and commercially minded.
If you enjoy building relationships, speaking with clients, attending events and generating business this is the role for you!
Step into the role
You will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across Brighter Compliance’s core service areas.
This is a proactive role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, speaking with clients, attending events, managing a sales pipeline and helping businesses understand how our services can support their growth and compliance needs.
- Main Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound calls, Linked In, email campaigns, referrals, networking and events.
- Book and attend discovery calls with prospective clients.
- Build relationships with decision-makers across target sectors.
- Promote Brighter Compliance’s services, including ISO, PAS, MCS, health and safety, fire safety, bid support and compliance consultancy.
- Attend relevant industry events, exhibitions, networking sessions and partner meetings.
- Manage leads and opportunities within the CRM system.
- Work with consultants and internal teams to develop proposals.
- Follow up with prospective clients and support proposal conversion.
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Provide regular updates on pipeline, opportunities, activity and performance.

- £32,000 plus 5% commission on qualifying new business revenue
- 37.5 hours per week, full time, permanent position
- Hybrid, based at Brighter Compliance Limited (4 Vita House, Fish Quay, North Shields, NE30 1JA)
- 22 days leave plus bank holidays. (+1 day with every year of service, capped at 28 days)

Your profile
We are looking for someone who is confident, professional and commercially minded.
You will ideally have experience in business development, sales, account management or a similar client-facing role.
Experience in compliance, construction, retrofit, certification, health and safety, fire safety or professional services would be beneficial, but is not essential.
You should be comfortable speaking with clients, generating leads, managing follow-ups and working to agreed targets.

- Previous experience in business development, sales, account management or client relationship management.
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and approaching new prospects.
- Organised and able to manage multiple opportunities at different stages.
- Experience using a CRM system would be beneficial.
