We help people access services, enjoy activities and live as independently as possible.

We are looking for a caring and reliable Waking Nights Support Worker to join our friendly team in Whitby.

This is a waking nights support worker role. You will provide support throughout the night and help ensure the person remains safe, comfortable and well supported.

The role will involve 2 to 3 waking night shifts per week, including alternate weekends.

About the Role

As a Waking Nights Support Worker, you will support an individual with complex health needs.

The role will include providing personal care, supporting with manual handling and administering medication.

Experience supporting people with epilepsy, including seizures, is essential.

You will need to be confident supporting people with complex medical needs. You should also be able to remain calm and responsive during the night.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing person-centred support throughout waking night shifts.
  • Supporting with personal care needs.
  • Supporting safe manual handling and mobility.
  • Administering medication in line with training and care plans.
  • Supporting individuals with epilepsy and responding appropriately to seizures.
  • Monitoring the person's health and wellbeing throughout the night.
  • Following care plans, risk assessments and support guidelines.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing required documentation.
  • Promoting dignity, privacy, choice and independence.
  • Responding appropriately to changes in health or wellbeing.
  • Communicating any concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Building a positive and trusting relationship with the person you support.

What We're Looking For

  • We are looking for an experienced Waking Nights Support Worker who is compassionate, reliable and confident.
  • You will ideally have:
  • Experience supporting people with complex health needs.
  • Experience providing personal care.
  • Experience with manual handling.
  • Experience administering medication.
  • Experience supporting people with epilepsy and seizures.
  • The ability to work calmly and confidently at night.
  • A caring and respectful approach.
  • The ability to work independently while being part of a wider team.

As a Waking Nights Support Worker, you will need to understand the importance of following care plans and established procedures.

You must be reliable and able to commit to 2 to 3 waking nights per week, including alternate weekends.
