A highly regarded UK-based electronics manufacturing business is entering an exciting new phase of growth following significant private equity investment. With a strong heritage, an established customer base and a reputation for quality and engineering excellence, the business is now seeking an ambitious, commercially driven leader to help scale and transform the organisation.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a Managing Director / Sales & Marketing Director role with full responsibility for driving growth, shaping strategy and leading the business forward in partnership with an engaged board and investors.

The Opportunity

  • Lead the next phase of growth, evolving the business into a more scalable, growth-oriented manufacturer.
  • Define and execute a clear commercial strategy, building a professional sales & marketing capability and winning new customers and sectors.
  • Operate in a private equity–backed environment, delivering growth, improved governance and value creation.
  • Balance commercial ambition with operational excellence, ensuring quality, delivery and margin are maintained as the business scales.
  • Shape culture, leadership capability and organisational structure to support long-term success.

The business is well positioned to benefit from near-shoring trends, increasing demand for high-quality, low-to-medium volume electronics manufacturing, and growing complexity across regulated and engineering-led sectors.

Role Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver the commercial growth agenda: new customer acquisition, sector diversification and revenue growth.
  • Build and lead sales & marketing strategy, propositions and pipeline development.
  • Align operations, engineering and service delivery to support scalable, profitable growth.
  • Work closely with the board and investors on strategy, KPIs, governance and value creation plans.
  • Develop a high-performance leadership team and embed a strong, values-led culture.
  • Act as the external face of the business with customers, partners and industry stakeholders.

Experience & Profile

  • Private Equity & Leadership
  • Proven experience working in or alongside a private equity–backed business.
  • Track record of leading growth, transformation and increased governance.
  • Industry Background
  • Experience within contract electronics manufacturing, EMS or engineering-led manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of PCB assembly, box-build, electromechanical integration, prototyping/NPI and testing.
  • Exposure to sectors such as automotive, industrial, energy, rail or medical/life sciences is advantageous.
