Software Developer Outside IR35 Hybrid – 1-2 Days a week in the office in Newcastle £450-£500pd (Outside IR35) We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in Java and Springboot, alongside knowledge of JPA and Postgres. Experience with GitHub and AWS offerings will be an advantage. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of the Government Service Standards and a dedication to creating inclusive software that meets Accessibility Standards. Key Responsibilities: Create clean, well-designed, and efficient code. Engage in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Collaborate effectively with the UCD design team, Business Analyst, Performance Analyst, and development and Quality Assurance colleagues to develop a user-focused and inclusive service. Adhere to technical coding standards, best practises, and maintain consistent documentation. Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including estimation, sprint planning, and backlog grooming. Report progress daily in stand-up sessions, communicate transparently, and seek assistance when necessary. Demonstrate a solid understanding of functional programming principles and Test-Driven Development (TDD). Ideally, possess experience with both Java and Scala. Work with relational and NoSQL databases. Utilise cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Apply DevOps practises to enhance the development workflow. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Software Developer with a strong understanding of Java and Springboot. Familiarity with JPA/Postgres and version control systems such as GitHub. Knowledge of cloud offerings, particularly AWS, is preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
