Project Planner - National Grid

Project Planner Hybrid (1-2 days per week in Warwick) £350 per day (Inside Ir35) 6 month contract   We are looking for a Specialist Project Planner with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning, particularly using Microsoft Project (MSP2016 or later). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT Transformation projects and programmes, with a preference for those who possess an understanding of Cyber security. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the planning of 8 concurrent projects within the programme, each overseen by different Project Managers. Your primary responsibilities will include: – Designing, building, testing, and implementing new project plans, ensuring compliance with established planning processes and PMO standards. – Actively participating in project meetings to update, track, and advise on planning using MSP2016. – Feeding planning data into the PowerBI dashboard for reporting, collaborating closely with our team of PowerBI developers. – Monitoring project progress and highlighting any early warnings or conflicts related to activities, deliverables, or events. – Suggesting improvements to existing reporting frameworks, which currently include weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.   Key Skills Required: – Advanced user level of Microsoft Project 2016 (MSP2016), with at least 5 years of specialist experience, including proficiency in using formulas and views. – A passion for detailed planning and deep knowledge of MSP2016 functionalities. – Familiarity with SAFe methodology is desirable. – Strong IT background and experience in related fields. – An awareness of Cyber security, though this is preferred rather than essential. – Excellent communication skills, coupled with a detail-oriented and highly accurate approach. – Ideally, candidates will possess a degree or equivalent qualification
