Architect - Operating Model in City of Westminster

Architecture Operating Model Consultant Contract £600-£650pd (Inside IR35) Hybrid – 1 Day a week in London   We are looking for an experienced Architecture Operating Model Consultant to support an engagement focused on shaping and evolving how the architecture function operates across Group and Business Units (BUs). Working closely with architects and senior stakeholders, you will help define the roles, capabilities, governance and ways of working required to establish an effective and consistent architecture function. You will also support the progression of a priority architecture backlog, helping translate strategic objectives into practical actions and deliverables. This is an opportunity for someone with strong architecture experience who enjoys solving complex problems, shaping operating models and turning ideas into tangible outcomes.   Key Responsibilities Support the design and development of the architecture operating model across Group and Business Units. Assess and shape architecture roles, capabilities, organisational structures and accountabilities. Define and refine architecture governance, processes, standards and ways of working. Review architecture artefacts, tooling and interactions to identify opportunities for improvement. Help establish clear responsibilities and effective collaboration between Group and BU architecture teams. Support the prioritisation and progression of a key architecture backlog. Work directly with architects and senior stakeholders to gather insights, challenge assumptions and develop practical solutions. Structure ambiguous problems independently and translate findings into clear recommendations, actionable plans and high-quality, client-ready deliverables
