A technology organisation in the public sector space is looking for a Chief Architect to define and lead its end-to-end platform architecture. You’ll set technical direction, ensure systems are secure and scalable, and align architecture with business and product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own enterprise architecture strategy and standards
  • Lead design reviews and govern architectural decisions
  • Ensure scalable, resilient, and secure system design
  • Drive cloud-native, microservices, API, and data architecture adoption
  • Maintain platform consistency across regions and teams
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and senior stakeholders
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practices

Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years in software engineering, including senior architecture roles
  • Strong experience with distributed, cloud-native systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture, APIs, and data platforms
  • Solid understanding of security architecture (e.g. zero-trust)
  • Experience in public sector or regulated environments (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Additional Info

  • Travel to Ireland 2–3 times per month
  • Occasional Travel to Africa
  • High focus on information security and data protection
