The Opportunity Bright is building a dedicated Pre-Sales function. We are building this team from the ground up and this role will help define what great pre-sales looks like at Bright, not just fill a seat in an existing structure. Our customers are accountants and payroll professionals. They’re experts in their field and they know immediately whether the person demonstrating software understands their world. This role exists to make sure every prospect conversation is led by someone who does.
The Role The Pre Sales Specialist sits within our Sales department, dedicated to bringing Bright’s product suite to life for customers.

- Prospects consistently leave demos feeling understood, their specific workflows and challenges reflected in how Bright’s products are presented.
- Win rates improve as pre-sales becomes a credible, consistent part of the sales cycle.

What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Sales team to qualify opportunities and lead technical consultative discovery sessions with prospective clients, understanding their workflows, challenges and requirements.
- Lead compelling, tailored product knowledge sessions with prospective and existing customers, helping them understand how Bright’s suite addresses the specific challenges of their practice or bureau.
- Own your product knowledge, maintaining deep, current expertise across the full Bright suite, including integrations, workflows, and competitive positioning.
- Translate customer workflow and experience insight into clear, evidenced feedback for Product — articulating not just what customers ask for, but why, and what impact it has on their practice or bureau.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor products and market trends to position Bright’s solutions effectively.
- Support a smooth handover to Implementation and Customer Success post-sale, ensuring a seamless experience for new clients.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of pre-sales materials and internal enablement — helping to build the function.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Solid experience in an accountancy or payroll SaaS environment, you understand the day-to-day realities of practices and bureaus and can speak to customers with genuine credibility.
- A consultative, solution-oriented approach with strong listening and discovery skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident navigating multiple software products – you pick up new tools quickly and evaluate them critically.
- Demonstrable ability to translate complex product and workflow knowledge into compelling, accessible narratives for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- A proven track record of building credibility and trust with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders.
- A natural curiosity about how software works and how it could work better, you notice friction, ask why, and have strong instincts about what a good product experience looks like.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Bright’s product suite (BrightPay, BrightBooks, BrightAP, or similar).
- A background in an accountancy practice or a payroll bureau, you’ve sat on the other side of the software.
