Bright Star Talent is recruiting an IT Technician to support a secondary alternative provision in Newport, Isle of Wight. This is an opportunity to use your technical skills in a supportive school environment, helping staff and pupils access reliable IT systems and digital learning resources. The role: * Provide day to day technical support to staff and pupils. * Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues. * Set up, maintain and update computers, laptops and other IT equipment. * Support access to online learning platforms and classroom technology. * Assist with user accounts, passwords and access permissions. * Keep accurate records of equipment and technical issues. * Follow school procedures for data protection, online safety and secure use of IT systems. We are looking for: * Experience working as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role. * Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software and networks. * Clear communication skills and a patient, approachable manner. * The ability to prioritise tasks and work independently. * An understanding of confidentiality and safe use of technology in education. * Previous school IT experience is desirable. * Availability to start within the next few weeks. You will be working in a setting supporting pupils who need an alternative to mainstream education, so a calm, respectful approach and the ability to build positive relationships are essential. You will receive support from a dedicated Bright Star Talent consultant throughout your placement.
