Bright Star Talent are working with a thriving secondary school in Darwen, rated Good by Ofsted, who are looking for a committed and approachable Head of Year to join their pastoral team. With over 1,200 students, this is a busy school where no two days are the same. You ll be working closely with students, teachers, families and the wider pastoral team, making a real difference to the day-to-day experience of young people. What you ll be doing As Head of Year, you ll be at the heart of your year group s pastoral support. You ll: * Get to know your students and understand what motivates and challenges them. * Provide a consistent point of support for students who may need extra guidance. * Monitor attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and progress. * Work with students to overcome barriers and build confidence. * Develop positive relationships with parents and carers. * Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to put the right support in place. * Help manage behaviour and encourage high expectations. * Celebrate student achievements and recognise their progress. * Support students through difficult situations and help them make positive choices.
